Rest of Book 4; English

So, Dido finishes her "Aeneas sucks" speech at this point. Aeneas, being the nice bro he is, actually pities Dido. Still, the gods are like "Nu-uh boy" so he's still going to Italy. He says "I sail for Italy not of my own free will." Isn't that nice? I'd think that should mean something to Dido but she still can't handle it and sends in her sister to persuade him (how would that accomplish anything?). Obviously, this doesn't work out.

Aeneid, Book 4: Lines 367-392

Summary: Dido complaining and more of a crazy ding dong than ever!

Aeneid, Book 4: Lines 347-364

Summary: Aeneas is actually being pretty reasonable about the fact that they both have kingdoms they should be ruling. Even his dead pops is haunting him at night telling him to get off his butt and go to Italy already. Even after Aeneas points out how there are flippin' gods riding him on the subject Dido still doesn't buy it.

Aeneid, Book 4: Lines 325-344

Summary: Dido is all angsty becase Aeneas is ditching her to go fulfill his destiny. Oh, she also wants him to sleep with her (again maybe?) 'cause she wants a child that looks like him (I wonder what that means). On top of that, she thinks they're married. Aeneas is pretty much like "Well, you know, Jupiter and fate told me to go do this so I have to. What? Do you think even if fate wasn't making me do this I would still stick around? Nah, bro, I gotta' go rebuild my city. Oh, by the way, I'm destined to get a hotter wife, but thanks for being my one night stand."

Aeneid, Book 4: Lines 304-324

*Note: I'm trying to keep these as close to the Latin as possible. Some grammar won't make sense or it just might be the fact that I suck. Posting these really for myself but whatever, you can use them.

Summary: Dido is still complaining.

Summary of Book XI (for the lulz)

Book 11: Drances and Camilla
War in Italy (Latium)

*Note: Everyone except the Trojans are Italians (Trojans are from Turkey). Italy, more accurately, Rome, at this point is called Latium. King Latinus is the, well, king of the Latins. King Turnus rules a group of Italians called "Rutulians" and King Evander rules a group of Tuscans from the region of Arcadia.
The whole dispute starts because Latinus originally promised his daughter, Lavania, to Turnus but then changes his mind and promises her to Aeneas because fate has willed it. Turnus at first is kind of pissed but gets super angry when Juno sends the Fury Alecto to stir up the rage in his heart. Turnus declares war on the Trojans.
